This game was Developed in 15 days as a personal challenge to improve my 2D game skills and make a complete game compared to what I have published on Itch.io. It is a top-down 2D roguelike game where you fight through rooms of enemies to reach the end of the level.
Before I initially started working on this game, I had consulted a friend of mine to give me a general "Theme" to base the game around. I figured it would be a better challenge to work with a certain theming or restraint for the project. Ultimately, the theme was "apocalyptic world" and the genre was "Rouge-like".
As I worked through developing the game, I made sure to log all my progress on a GDD (Game Design Document) to ensure that I stayed on track and was aware of all the previous tasks I had completed. I used the "Scrum" method to successfully develop the game, as I had used it in prior projects.
Something that I had developed in this game that didn't ever make it to the final build was the "Random Level Generation." I had already spent about two days implementing this system and succeeded in that regard. However, I soon realized that if I wanted to hit my 15-day deadline, I had to shelf the random level generation as it would've consumed too much time trying to design around Random Levels.
The game was released on Itch.io on October 8th, 2023.
